Frequently Asked Questions
A cemetery is only required to mow the grass two times a season (March through November). However, at Willow View each section is mowed every 12 to 14 days, weather permitting. We can not do the entire cemetery in one day. So 2-4 sections are mowed per day, 3-4 days a week. Weed wacking is done on the same schedule. We have 15 sections, a large field and the perimeter on both sides to care for.
The cemetery is not responsible for damage to any monuments/markers or decorations in the cemetery, caused by ordinary care of the cemetery or any other accidents which may occur on cemetery property.Â

1. Please remember, we do not allow anything on the ground that gets in the way of our ability to mow and trim around the monuments and markers efficiently. Items such as rocks, glass, shepherds hooks, wooden crosses, artificial flowers, ceramic figurines, etc, can do that. Broken decor, and sharp objects get kicked up by the mowers and trimmers and are thrown into things/people. We have seen how they damage surrounding monuments and also physically harm our groundskeepers. When the weeds grow thick and around these objects we can not take care of the grounds like we need to. When possible please put flower bouquets, lights and crosses in cemetery approved vases only, keep decor on the base of your monument and not on the ground. If it's in a vase or on your monument or base, it's safe, unless it's deteriorating.
2. If you use mulch, only use wood mulch. As it naturally breaks down. You must keep it weeded, or we will remove the mulch and any items in it so we can maintain the graves accordingly. Absolutely no wire or plastic fencing is allowed.
3. We try to be as lenient as possible, but there are times when we have to remove the items that are in our way. We reserve the right to remove anything that keeps us from mowing and trimming around the monuments and markers. We do have a large sign on the cemetery grounds (between H and G) stating our decor rules and a smaller bronze sign on the office building stating what is not allowed. If you have any questions we ask that you call the cemetery office for clarification @ (937) 277-2021. Thank you.
We do cleanup as often as we need to. But it's usually 2-3 times a season. Please keep in mind, anything in the ground around the monument is subject to pick up. If the items are still in good condition, we try to set them aside in an area near the office for you to retrieve them. We have about 16,000 recorded burials here, it's extremely difficult for us to take note of what belongs to whom. Sometimes strong winds come through here during storms and they really stir things up. Many flower bouquets and saddles have been thrown about and we will put them back on the monument that they are nearest to.
Our rule is a grave can hold one full burial and two cremation burials, or just three cremation burials.
A Burial of Rights Certificate is issued to the grave owner when a grave is purchased. It gives the grave owner the right to bury at that specific location. This is not a real estate purchase, but only a right to do a burial. All burials must be legally recorded with the cemetery office. Some paperwork such as burial certificates are required by law.
